Painting to be Unveiled .In Zoe Cameron Blog by Zoe CameronAugust 25, 2016In 2015 , I was invited to make a painting for Mawgan Church. It has been a pleasure for me to do this, particularly as it is where I was married to my husband Geoff , in 2005, during the harvest festival. Before I began painting, I thought a great deal about the subject matter I might include. And decided I wanted to celebrate the ‘happy ordinariness’ of living in a small Cornish village.Last year I was in the audience when local school children performed songs . I decided to include some of these children in this painting, by way of marking this point in their lives .I thought they were so full of hope and honest sincerity. They have grown up in the village, been a part of a small community ,and will play their part in the cycle of life and renewal .Within the composition I make a strong reference to The Madonna and Child . In a consumer world, the true value of giving love and nurturing your child can seem undervalued and overlooked, but to me, it appears to be one of the greatest gifts given to a child that grows into an adult seeking ordinary happiness.Information from Mawgan in Meneage Facebook page.St Mawgan in Meneage Church Advance notice of a very special Coffee Morning on Saturday 10th September.
