Places

I adore Cornwall, and some special places feel like they are in my very bones.

It was at Porthleven that I had my first proper studio after college, in the old Net Lofts, overlooking the harbour. It was a luxury in terms of space and subject matter, but not for warmth and home comforts during the winter months. It inspired a lot of paintings over the years I worked there.

The seaside village of Marazion also holds precious memories of childhood holidays, and who wouldn’t wonder at the sight of St Michaels Mount. At All Saints Church , a large commissioned painting I made for can be found inside, entitled Pilgrims and Shrines. This church is open to the public.
