I too would like to celebrate The Thunderbirds puppet show recently revisited by the media. I thoroughly enjoyed watching The Thunderbirds during my 1960’s childhood. I do have to confess that I did have a preference for the Lady Penelope story lines which I watched in awe, because of her cool demeanour in the face of international dangers . I even tried to recreate similar stories by persuading my little friend mark to play Parker on the village green. There, Mark would sit on one stone and I would sit behind, the he would drive us…. and sometimes the cat, to imaginary places while I wore my high heeled glittery plastic shoes , thinking all the time, this is ok, if this is what its like being a grown up , and a London agent working for International rescue .

This ‘FAB’ & joyful childhood memory remained with me . So when I made the ‘One hundred painted vows’ , I included a painting recalling those childhood years to honour the stylish and beautifully spoken Sylvia Anderson who sadly died in March 2016.

My thanks to Jerry and Sylvia Anderson and the family, for all the fun they generated for me and my friends as 1960’s children .
