This painting is another in the figure and bird series painted in 1999. I wanted to explore the relationship between the parrot and the figure after reading an article about an owner and her parrot in a newspaper. I was interested in how they co-exist. The bird remains, uncaged. The figure and the bird have reached an understanding.
