Rooksmoor Gallery.
I had a recent email enquiry about a sculpture that I had made in 1984. That prompted me to look back and check my records. At that time I had not long left college where I had acquired my sculpture degree, there I met some great people and eventually settled down in the Gloucester countryside with fellow artist Charles Watts.
In the 1980’s we were good friends with the many of artists living in and around Nailsworth and Stroud, spending time together around kitchen tables. There was a strong and thriving artistic colony in that area . We all tended to show our work at the same Galleries too. One such was Rooksmoor Gallery, initially housed in a mill, now apartments and another good place to show was at Cirencester Workshops, which at the time hadn’t long been open.
Rooksmoor Gallery eventually moved onto Bath and Bristol .

Cirencester workshops had a great space to show work. Inside this rather dull cover are the names of the six artists who shared this group exhibition for the month. It brought back some forgotten memories reading the names . Nigel Ashcroft , Fiona Owen, John Owen, Lucy Mackenzie and Helen Williams and me, Zoe Cameron.
No-one recorded things at that time like they do now, so no photos , just the lists of the work on show and for sale , which I’d image we’d all hope is still resonating with the like minded people who support us and the arts , when purchasing our work .
