Although I am not a follower of the Catholic faith , I was moved like many to hear that Pope Francis had died. So many people had been anxiously praying for him when he was very ill. We saw their joy when he seemed to improve, and we saw their sadness at his passing.

From what I read he had a fairly ‘conventional’ life in the years before he became Pope . Perhaps this endeared him to so many . This Ex Votive painting gives thanks for his life .
