Many years ago I made this oil painting of Paula , who at the time was transitioning to become a woman with gender reassignment surgery . She sat for me in the studio and as I painted and we drank tea , she spoke about her hopes for the future and what she had been through, it was then I really began to understand just how courageous she was.

This painting is Lot 187 at Lanes Auction sale Penzance on 9th February at 10.30.

I dont know where this little painting has been , but I hope that she finds a good home….
